What Is Toasted Hemp Seed?
Toasted hemp seed are whole hemp seeds carefully roasted in our custom-built hemp seed roaster at various temperatures and for varied lengths of time to provide that extra flavour. Hemp seed has been consumed by mankind (and animals) for centuries. In fact, whole populations have survived off hemp seed in times of famine. In China, at the cinema, you can still buy roasted hemp seeds in the same way you can buy popcorn in the West.
Toasted hemp seed is a nutritious and crunchy snack that can also be used as a baking ingredient, which will not only provide the nutritional benefits of hemp into your baked goodies but also the extra crunch and toasted nutty flavour.
Why Toasted Hemp Seed?
Each 50g serving size provides 6% of the calcium RDI and 45% of the phosphorus RDI. Both calcium and phosphorus are essential macronutrients for bone formation and DNA and RNA production.
These macronutrients are also the most abundant nutrients found in the human body.
Rich in dietary fiber with 15 grams per serving size, it makes an excellent food source to maintain a health digestive system.
